At Norris Electric we offer several products and services to fit our member's needs. Services include electric service, security lights, WildBlue Satellite Speed Internet, and long distance telephone through Power Net Global Communications. Also as a Norris Electric Co-op member, you are entitled to pay just $5 a month for a life saving service in our area - Air Evac Lifeteam. You can now buy and dispose of your energy efficient Compact Fluorescent lamps, at our office in Newton. You can also be assured of uninterrupted power with a Briggs & Stratton Home Generator System.

As your rural electric distribution provider, we are the largest in the counties of Clark, Crawford, Cumberland, Effingham, Jasper, Lawrence, Richland and Wabash. As a cooperative, everyone desiring electric service must become a member of the cooperative. Membership is free by printing and filling out an application. Please mail the application to our office address included on the form or return to our office. You may review our standard residential rates on-line. Norris Electric Cooperative also offers security lights for a small monthly fee starting at $6.00 a month for a 100 Watt High Pressure Sodium dusk to dawn light. The cost covers installation, maintenance, and operation of the light. The electricity the light uses is not metered and is included in the monthly fee. The only requirement is the light must be installed on a Norris Electric pole. It's a great deal for our members! Contact our office at 877-783-8765 to sign up for this great deal!

Norris Electric Cooperative has launched a program that offers further proof that being a member of an electric cooperative has its advantages. The Co-op Connections program, a new card-based member benefit program for Touchstone Energy® cooperatives, is designed to deliver added value to cooperative members. Norris Electric is implementing this program in conjunction with the other Touchstone Energy co-ops serving 22 million member-owners nationwide.
A free offering for co-op members and participating businesses, the program benefits cooperative members by offering valuable discounts at participating local and national businesses. Norris Electric Cooperative is offering long distance service through Power Net Global Communications. This long distance service is one of the lowest-cost long distance services available. Per minute charges apply for calling anywhere in the State of Illinois or out of state in the continental United States. In addition you can have your own personal 800 number to receive calls from family members or acquaintances. Incoming calls on your 800 number are billed at the same rates. All rates are the same 24 hours a day - 7 days a week. There are no monthly fees, no minimums, or long-term agreements. We also now offer CFL recycling. Simply bring your used CFLs by our office and we will see they are completely recycled - the mercury, glass, metals in the ballast - by Veolia, a leader in recycling technology.
| Briggs & Stratton Home Generator Systems |
Norris Electric now offers the Briggs & Stratton Home Generator System line of standby and emergency generators. Briggs & Stratton is one of the leading and most well known names in small engines. Residential generators are available from 7 kW to 20 kW and can be operated on natural gas or propane.
These units are available with transfer switches that automatically start the unit and transfer to standby power in the event of a power outage. When utility service is restored, the transfer switch switches back to utility power and shuts down the generator.
